Law Journal Editor Resource Guide

A resource guide to help law journal students manage journals published at the School of Law.

Creating New Volume & New Issues

  • At the top of the Configuration panel, there is a group of links for each Volume for your journal (clicking on a volume allows you to see links to issues within that volume). Below this group of links, you can click on the "CREATE NEW volume" link to create a new volume.
  • NOTE: Creating a volume should only be done once per year. If you see the volume number you need in the group of links, then you do not need to create a new volume.

  • To create a new Issue, you have to first create the volume for that issue and click on the volume link. A "CREATE NEW issue" link should appear once inside the volume.

Update Editorial Board on Journal Page Sidebar

  • There is a link on the side panel of the journal pages that links to an image of the journal's masthead.

  • This can be updated in the Configuration panel for the journal (at the top level, when you are not in a volume or issue). There is a "Editorial Board" section that has HTML that embeds an image onto the Editorial Board page. You should be able to upload the masthead image to the law school's website and use that link here.

  • To save your changes and update the live site for the journal, first click the "Submit Changes" button and then click on the "Update issue" link on the left side of the page.

Update Editorial Board on Journal Issue Pages

  • On each Issue landing page that lists the articles for that issue, there is a list of the editorial board members displayed.

  • You add this by going to Configuration, going to a specific Issue within a Volume, and adding the editorial board members to the "Issue Editorial Board" section. Make sure the checkbox for "Display Issue Editorial Board" is checked, and then paste the Editorial Board HTML text into the text box. It is a good idea to go to an older Issue in an older Volume to copy the older editorial board template, and then just fill in the new names where they fit.

  • To save your changes and update the live site for the journal, first click the "Submit Changes" button and then click on the "Update issue" link on the left side of the page.
