White noise machines are now available in library study rooms! Please use these machines to drown out unwanted disruptions while studying.
Located in each study room, these white noise machines are effective and easy to use. First, make sure the machine is plugged into an electric outlet, then press the grey switch to turn it on. For a quieter white noise experience, press the grey switch on the side up; for a louder white noise experience, press the grey switch down. You can also twist the top of the machine to further adjust the machine's volume. If you have any questions on how to use our new white noise machines, please stop by the circulation desk. Finally, before leaving a study room, please remember to turn off the device.
As a reminder, study rooms provide an opportunity for quiet, collaborative studying. The walls of our study rooms are not soundproof. Please be considerate of your volume when talking in study rooms. If you encounter unwanted noise while working in a study room, first try using our new white noise machines. If the disruptive noise is still too loud, please seek a solution at the circulation desk.
