Law Journal Editor Resource Guide

A resource guide to help law journal students manage journals published at the School of Law.

How to Edit an Article - Article View

  • After logging in to your account, when you view an article on the repository, you should see a Gray Banner with different buttons at the top of your screen.
  • When you click on "Edit Submission" on the gray banner, you will be brought to the Revise Submission page.

  • On the Revise Submission page, click on the "Revise Submission" link on the left side of the page to start making changes to the article metadata.

  • The page should reload with the different metadata fields open for editing and updating. At the bottom, there is a new text box field that lets you put in text describing the reason for making changes. Filling this is helpful when going back and reviewing what changes were made to individual articles.
  • When done making changes, click on the "Submit changes" button at the bottom of the page. When the page reloads, click on "Update ir_journal" link on the left side to push the changes to the live website.

How to Edit Articles - Using Manage Submissions

  • You can find and edit articles using the "Manage Submissions" section of the administration tool. This can be helpful whenever you want to make edits to articles that have not been published on the repository yet. You can also search articles by author last name, article title, abstract, and other fields.

  • The screenshot above shows what the Manage Submissions section looks like after searching for all Published articles. You can change the search using the drop down options in the top half of the screen, which will then produce results in the bottom half of the screen. Click on the link in the Title column to bring up the article and begin making revisions.

How to Edit Articles - Batch Revise

The Bepress system supports batch revising article metadata in case it is needed. For most issues, it should be easiest and fastest to revise an article individually using the system's interface. However, if you need to make updates to multiple articles all at once, please reach out to Aaron Retteen in the law library for assistance.
